I suspect that Bob has a formal arrangement with Barrons that allows him to read these extensive quotes. It is interesting to note that Barrons is the only financial newspaper that he does that with. He sometimes will point us to an article from the NY Times or WSJ but I can't remember him reading from these. Of course, Barrons must be very happy to have him read these quotes as it draws attention to the newspaper from a large audience.

Chris: Re: "I cannot think Bob would have a problem with people making short quotes and summaries of his work. After all, doesnt he quote articles from Barrons and provide summaries for a significant part of his show? Pretty much the same thing, so I dont think he would have a problem with it."

I can't speak for Brinker but I will say that the issue is far more complicated than meets the eye. Those who are arguing from a freedom of speech angle are skimming the surface and are focused on one right to the exclusion of all others. They are unaware of the broader issues at work. Maybe it is just as well. Let's leave it at that.
