Yes, more importantly, what about the parent that runs off to a Muslim country with a child and claims that America is evil. Therefore, according to the rule in Elian's case, the child must be allowed to stay in the Muslim country. We wouldn't like it very much if this was an American child under similar circumstances in, say, Iraq.

Absolutely wrong.

First, children already have claimed asylum. That is not new law.

Second, there are special rules provided by existing law for Cubans. The special rules are basically that any Cuban that reaches US land can claim asylum.

That doesn't apply to other groups.
