Thread- In the FWIW category, and since I follow so many Last Mile infrastructure companies, I thought I would post a few random excerpts from recent earnings announcements. I think it's pretty clear that broadband spending is for real. Keep in mind, although US investors are spoiled by high growth rates, IMO even a 25% growth in today's extremely low unemployment environment is big accomplishment. And best of all, I believe most of the growth below is of the best kind, organic (internal). Sales of broadband products fueled the growth, with $46.5 million in broadband revenues, an increase of 44 percent over the same period in 1999. Tetra Tech Inc. (sym:WATR) today announced second-quarter results for fiscal year 2000. Gross revenue for the quarter ended April 2, 2000 was $177.6 million, up 38.6% over gross revenue of $128.1 million for the same quarter last year. Antec (sym:ANTC) today announced financial results for the first quarter of 2000. Revenues for the quarter increased 72% to a record $250.3 million as compared to first quarter 1999 revenues of $145.3 million. Arguss Holdings (sym:ARGX) today announced results from operations for the three months ended March 31, 2000. ACG's operations historically have seasonally weaker results in the quarter ended March 31 due to the effect of winter weather on outside plant activities in the northern areas served by them. ARGX reports a 32% increase in net sales to $55,044,000 in the first three months of 2000 from the first three months of 1999.Conexant Systems Inc. (sym:CNXT) on Wednesday reported revenue for the quarter jumped to $502 million, up 58 percent from the year-earlier quarter's $317 million. TranSwitch Corporation (sym:TXCC) announced today that it has posted record revenues, record operating income, and record net income for the first quarter ended March 31, 2000. Quarterly Revenues up 85% over the first quarter 1999Adtran (sym:ADTN) topped expectations for the first quarter Monday, reporting Sales were up 29 percent over last year's first quarter, hitting $99.5 million. Advanced Fibre Communications (sym:AFCI) announced today financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2000. Revenues for the first quarter were $85,079,000, compared with $67,590,000, for the first quarter of 1999, an increase of 26% .Aware, Inc. (sym:AWRE), with technology for high-speed Internet access over existing telephone networks, today reported record financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2000. First quarter 2000 revenue increased 49 percent to $6.4 million, compared to $4.3 million for the quarter ended March 31, 1999.Copper Mountain Networks (sym:CMTN) today announced financial results for the first quarter of 2000. The first quarter of 2000 revenue represented an increase of 36 percent , over the $44.6 million in revenue reported for the fourth quarter of 1999. Next Level Communications (sym:NXTV) today reported record revenue. Revenue for the first quarter of 2000 was $60.8 million, an increase of $47.6 million over revenue of $13.2 million for the first quarter of 1999 or an increase 360% .
