If you find anything interesting, let the thread know. A lot of us might be interested in having something like that.

You would expect Quicken to work right, but nooooo....

Etrade was supposed to be providing a MacIntax importable file but they didn't have it working by the time I did my taxes. I think that this is the right idea, brokers providing portfolio information as an added value service.

fwiw, here's what I've done... #reply-13392031

but I'm definitely moving to an excel spreadsheet attachment to the Sch D... easier to manage.

Quicken (Qw) + TurboTax (TT) aren't perfect, but the combo is good for record keeping and preparing taxes and ES payments.
Qw let's you create customized reports which are useful to final tallies that can be used as input into TT. seemless transfer of data from one to the other is a myth however :-)

if your broker (schwab, etrade, etc.) downloads transactions into Qw it's even better, otherwise, I'm religious about updating it daily... otherwise you're toast if you trade frequently.

Like the idea of a running tally on st/lt gains(losses)to help with quarterly estimates - particularly if this info could be imported to Turbo - after spending a long time entering everything, had to go back an annualize to avoid a penalty.
Please report if you come across any software of this sort.
TIA,
Charlene
