Hi all - here is one view of ASYC purchase, albeit a bit sketchy and the caliber of the reporter's expertise is not known.

Btw, has anyone listen in yesterday [note: I don't have a sound card for G2 here, but I will catch up tonight.]

best, Bosco

Jack, Until a person more informed than those making claims about cutting R&D (where was it cut), the rehash of LU's optical switch definition (Xros is the SAME product but actually does not presently even scale to 256X256 though they claim a 1012X1012 and LU is claiming a similar scalability...it was demonstrated with a 40X40 configuration at the OFC and LU will be first to market. Of Course, LU did not have to spend billions to get theirs), LU only having a 192 product for the last part of the quarter(of course it will take more than a month to catch up but 200 million in sales for the month is excellent) and this constant bull about LU playing with accounting. Mr. Fun pointed out the other day that NT has demonstrated slower growth YOY and has HIGHER DSO's than LU. To side with NT at a PEG nearly twice LU while LU is clearly demonstrating that it is executing seems like a mistake to me. Btw, did you notice that when taking the soon to be spun off Enterprise division out of the numbers, LU actually earned MORE/share? I like LU's chances. Mant INFORMED articles have been written over the last week all pointing to LU as the better investment at present levels. I said this in January/February when I sold my NT and LU was in the low 50's that though LU had gotten slaughtered, it had become a better investment than NT for the long term at those levels. Btw, I did pick up some NT at 90 the other day. trading shares.

You should do some more research Mr. Bittner.
