Mark,

<<<Racism exists in this country>>>

No doubt. BUT, it is much more isolated than it was 20 or 30 or 150 years ago. Today, blacks do not face any higher obstacles that any other race or religion do. There will always be a fringe element of wacko Nazi-like people, but they do not, in any way, represent mainstream America. To say that Coca Cola is a racist-run company (which is Jesse's latest proclamation) is ludicrous. There will always be a minute minority of people who are racist in some way or another. You cannot eliminate them, the best solution is to just ignore them.

<<<Black people in this country have to deal every day with indignities that white people cannot even begin to imagine>>>

Maybe, maybe not. People of all races--white, black, Indians, Jews, Vietnamese, etc. face daily challenges because someone doesn't like them. That isn't racism per se, that is human nature. It's not fair, but everyone encounters challenges in their lives and the true measure of each person is how they deal with and overcome those challenges. Trust me Mark, a few years ago I personally dealt with a situation like this that made what blacks have to deal with look like a cakewalk. It wasn't fair and the goofs who used their power to try and destroy me almost succeeded. Everyday, people--whites, blacks, etc.--encounter assholes like I did, and the true measure of a person is how they can overcome their problems. I had plenty of people, including my attorneys, who told me "you CAN'T beat these people, so lay down and fold," simular to what Jesse preaches. It was a bitch, but I ended up beating the oppressors in a rout. Anyone can do it, provided they don't listen to people like Jesse who tell them "you CAN'T."

America may permit assholes to run roughshod over people perceived as "weak," but what makes this country truly great is that it provides opportunity for the so-called called "weak" to outsmart, outfox and beat (like a drum) the oppressors. It happens everyday. The only victims are the people who believe the "messengers" like Jesse who convince the masses that "they CAN'T."

And let us not forget the fact that many black people are also racist..... It's a two way street these days, a double-edged sword unfortunately. Yogi
