There myths are not very "primitive". They are very complicated. The Vikings even have their own Christ figure.

In all evolution different adaptions to the same pressures emerge- one response to living among great masses of people is to become more liberal and a competing adaption is to become more insular. I don't know which will win out. It is still conceivable to me that we will wipe ourselves out with a global nuclear war- in which case we will have failed as a species, and our evolution will be over. There is a place for a belief in "purpose" in evolution (not purpose "of" evolution, I merely speak of the organism believing in some purpose)- if it aids the organism, but the falsity or verity of the purpose is unimportant- (in the scheme of evolution- not necessarily on a smaller personal scale).

You are merely pointing out that populations of "hawks" and "doves" exist- that was one of the first things we learned in biology.
