I guess my comparision would be a Rhythm...(Which i thought was better than sliced bread)....and they had a whopping 13 thousand subscribers....and they just took on 400-500 Million in convertible debt..at junk bond status of 14 percent...(Compliments of Merrill Lynch)..So now these new guys have to build out...@ Junk Bond status...that sucks.

Yes, I am hearing that sentiment too, gpowel.

I've got ameritech.net DSL at the private practice but Roadrunner at home.

To my surprise, the xDSL hookup was less complicated then the cable. The router was installed next to the phone junction box. I ran CAT-V cable through telephone line conduits and into the offices, not that hard. The cable was brought through our old telephone jacks and into the computer.

But Roadrunner crew had to run a 200 foot orange cable from the main trunk, around my house, into the basement then up through the floor into my study. Then I've got this ugly ass cable modem sitting on my desk. That orange cable runs adjacent to my neighbors property line, and he has a German sheppard puppy who loves to chew on colorful things.

xDSL is also a dedicated platform, I always get the same speed day in and day out. My cable has been operating a high speeds, but I wonder what will happen when everybody else in my neighborhood gets the service? You don't know how a shared platform will run until everybody shares it.
