Nothing has changed fundamentally.

Bull. ATHM has thrown a change up in a fast ball count. It may work, but you have to question the strategy. Consider how their other strategic decisions have panned out.

One line in the CC call tells the story for me. When explaining why media revenue growth would be flat for the rest of the year, Bell (or Goldman?), said it is because they are shifting their focus to BB content development. Hello? Are you telling me that all this time you have been focusing on narrowband content?

These guys are like a rookie pitcher - they have good stuff - just no head. Let's hope they figure it out before they blow their arm out.

When AOL was spending on advertising it was OK, but ATHM is not allowed to adopt a similar plan?

This is not what ATHM is doing. The extra costs are going towards expansion overseas and upgrades to the network, only about 25 million of the expected 100 million of additional expenses will be for marketing.

Most of you guys and gals got screwed on that sudden reversal in strategy... what makes you think that anyone would feel comfortable with this type of erratic behavior ? Under these circumstances, ATHM will find a bottom when buyers are confident that nothing that management does could cause further damage. I have no good idea where that point is.
