You are probably talking to american MIS managers...

Linux typically makes its way into companies by proving its worth, not by a big decision at management level. Therefore it typically only enters those companies, that have employees that can handle it in a way that makes it work better than alternative products.

Since every university and IT school in Europe today teaches Linux (and often not Microsoft), there are lots and lots of Linux administrators out there today. As time goes by, every company will have lots of Linux administrators.

I understand, that american universities are more commercial minded and therefore teach Microsoft products. This makes the american market very much different.
