SAP Selects Citrix MetaFrame for Broadening Application Access with mySAP.com
Workplace

Business Editors
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 2000--Citrix(R)
Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS) announced its MetaFrame(TM) application
server software has been chosen by SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) to expand the
application access capabilities of mySAP.com(TM) Workplace, an
enterprise Web portal that gives users personalized, role-based access
to all the applications and tools they need from a single access
point. mySAP.com is the Internet solution that connects employees,
customers, suppliers and business partners as if they all were one
company. Citrix MetaFrame can be used to provide access to any
Windows(R)-based application from mySAP.com Workplace.
"While SAP has completely Web-enabled its software by using SAPGUI
for HTML, a user's ability to access all required applications through
a single, personalized Web portal is an important milestone in
improving ease-of-use and flexibility," said Gunther Tolkmit, Chief
Marketing Officer, SAP AG. "mySAP.com Workplace offers this capability
by giving users browser-based access to all SAP applications, Web
content and Internet-based services. To allow mySAP.com Workplace
users to seamlessly access any non-Web-enabled application, Citrix
MetaFrame adds a reliable and fast technology to our solution."
"The Web browser is quickly becoming the preferred universal
<24>access point for computing tools and software," said Douglas Wheeler,
access point for computing tools and software," said Douglas Wheeler,
senior vice president of Marketing for Citrix. "One of MetaFrame's
strengths is the ability to provide access to virtually any
application from a single device, including standard browsers. Because
today's computing environments frequently comprise a mix of
application platforms, MetaFrame is an important enabler of
comprehensive, browser-based application access. We are pleased to
provide this capability to users of mySAP.com Workplace."
Further, in a joint initiative to be launched in May, Citrix will
offer all SAP customers the opportunity to test the advantages of
MetaFrame software in conjunction with mySAP.com Workplace. SAP
customers will have access to a trial version of MetaFrame, providing
them the means to test the flexibility of the mySAP.com Workplace
portal to incorporate any application available on Windows.
Last year SAP released its SAPGUI for Windows for use on Citrix
MetaFrame. Since then many companies, including SAP itself, have
deployed this technology for their users to provide improved
manageability at lower costs.
