The chances of the FTC caring about an EMC acquisition of LGTO(E) are about zero. Don't forget that all you have to do is change your definition of the market a little to get CPQ a larger market share than EMC. In addition, it can be rationally argued that without an acquisition, LGTO(E) may cease to be. Finally, VRTS is a well established competitor that has been taking business away from LGTO(E) for a while.

More important to me is the possibility of overlap between LGTO(E) and EMC's software division. For those of you closer to the business, how much do these two software businesses overlap?
