Gold stocks rapidly losing their gains. This seems to have been still another meaningless bounce. Gold is dead unless and until the dollar bull ends and lease rates climb substantially -- making it more expensive for the shorts to keep the lid on.

Agreed Haim, If AG is sucessfull in slowing things down in the absence of a panic (which would help the defensive sector), keeping inflation in check, the overhang of European sales will keep demand for the metal in check creating sidewise or perhaps a continued slow slide of shares.
For this reason I recognize it might be a bit early for this sector..........I employed the same rational last Feb in tracking my favorite drilling stocks in the "paper portofolio" linked below
quote.yahoo.com
I set this up on March 8th (with imaginary purchaces of 1k shares each of FLC, GLM, NE, and RDC). This $40,625 folio weighs in today at $109,062. I must admidt my dismay at not acting upon my analysis of the oil patch and this sector. My decision with regards to gold is to acknowledge the difficulty of picking the bottom and thus to put my foot in the pool with the idea of increasing exposure if the future warrants it.
Contrarian investing has its advantages.....
