Egnima said pretty much the same thing. The point about DeBeers is valid though. I guess the problem is gold does not have a central focus point like DeBeers who can influence to a large degree the price of a particular commodity.

Having said all this there is no doubt in my mind that central banks and the FED have a vested interest in keeping the price down. Don't see how this is any different expect what Egnima said about the oil cartel and gov'ts. A gov't can do pretty much want it wants....even the FED. We like to think they are accountable but it is no easy task to hold their feet to the fire....just ask bill murphy.
