I'm a subscriber to GTR. There's only 1 reason I'm paying the $295/yr fee. And it's not to simply expand my knowledge of upcoming technology. If you just visit the site www.gildertech.com and read the first page there's no doubt about its intentions as a source for stock picks. So, I would find it incredible if anyone said they subscribe for reasons other than potential stock picks.

GG has definitely made some people a lot of money. And like anyone who looks ahead by way of how some companies are attempting to shape the future he hits some and he misses some. No one can expect every prediction to 100% accurate. Who knows, his timing could be off and what's down today may be up tomorrow. Or he may just miss it completely.

That being said, I don't think one can measure his report on whether it's accurate or not. It's not like he says company A is 1, company B is 1. Put them together and you have 2. It's not that clear cut.

There's lots of speculation, innuendo, some rambling laced with a few insights. I've reread a number of his reports. Some of what I read I think I understand well enough. Some portions covering technology I'm unfamiliar with I have a hard time with. In other parts I get lost in the rambling. Perhaps it's just me but sometimes as I start into a new sentence I stop and read back thinking I skipped something. Because I'm wondering how in the heck did he get to this sentence discussing point 23 from the last sentence discussing point F.

Sorry I rambled so long myself. One last thing, there was an interesting article about GG in a recent mag (either Industry Standard or Red Herring). Described him "paraphasing" as somewhat absent minded genius.
