The only thinking here is that of the average buccaneer. Come to think of it, it's not even that noble - at least when a pirate captain launched an attack he put his own arse on the line. These chaps have negligible costs and grab themselves a share of a potentially unlimited upside. It's an outrage. There ought to be some mechanism by which they'd have to pay for this sort of thing if they lose. Like for example being subject to suits by MSFT shareholders who lost market value due to the attack itself.

captjack: yea, these lawsuits are ridiculous but they could take a toll on the stock - tobacco etc.
