Auric - please tell me you didn't write that but lifted it from someone with talent and comedic genius... I'd hate to tell you how much I laughed if it actually came from you! LOL! I'm sharing this one with lots of folks

Auric,

You and I have been "friends" for a couple of years now, and since I am basically a "bull" and you are mostly a "bear", I consider your post a friendly "jab in the ribs".

I admit I have been the "jabber" lately, and I consider your recent jab "due".

Now, concerning market conditions and margin calls, I was really close to a margin call until the uptrend.

I never allow my margin to approach 50% and seldom allow it to reach 25%. I was caught somewhat by surprise with the severity of the recent downturn, although in retrospect I should not have been.

When the Market Makers and Specialist's are allowed to short into rallies and cover into weakness, while the whole time trading in separate accounts, why should one not expect volatility?

It's like a license to print cash.

Gloat while you can.

I have cash at my disposal if necessary.

Have fun,
Phil
