Andy Grove is a special breed. There are very few that could take over from someone like that and not look bad.

For what it's worth I don't believe Barett is 'bad' at what he does. He's just not Andy Grove.

Does anybody recall a quote by Barrett, that managing Intel is like driving a car at 200 mph, not knowing if there is going to be a wall on the road ahead.

Well, it seems like Intel slowed down to 55 mph.

I'm sure this poor planning would never have occurred under Grove. If things are not improving rather quickly, Barett is gone before the end of the year.
