ROFL...No, only my toe ring....

I don't think I can post any more until I find Carolyn...we're celebrating our # of posts...Mine # is 5000 and her # is 7777....Sarkie is suppose to be planning a surprise party for us, but I don't know if she knows it or not!

I have to find her too!!!! It sure is hard to help someone plan a surprise party for yourself...especially if the other person doesn't know about it....I'm off to check my # of posts!

Good morning, everyone. You have all been so helpful in the past, I thought I'd try a new "tech support" query for you.

On Monday, I intended to find some patriotic music to post on c.horn's Memorial Day thread. That set me to wondering about how MP3 files work. For example, why is it that, when I click on some music, I only hear "snippets" of it rather than the full tune? Is that the way it is recorded, or is that the way I'm hearing it because I don't have the proper software installed?

Because it was a holiday Monday, I decided to celebrate it in the traditional way, which is, of course, to install new software <g>. So I found and installed Winamp2.62, but that doesn't seem to make a difference in what MP3 files I can and cannot hear. Even worse, I can no longer hear any sounds unless I click directly on an MP3 link. I can't hear my own "Dona Nobis Pacem!" :(

As always, all help will be greatly appreciated.
