Myself and Thread:

On MSFT earnings......

dailynews.yahoo.com

Windows sales rose a lower-than-expected 14 percent due to the lagging PC sales, Connors said. He blamed much of the slowdown on a shortage of Intel Corp.'s (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) high-end Pentium III microprocessors.

``That was a little lower than we thought because PC demand was soft. There were parts shortages for business PCs, specifically Pentium III shortages. But we expect that growth to ramp up a bit' next quarter, Connors said.

However, in the company's earnings release, Connors said he was ``guarded' about near-term growth in the business PC market.
