Steve re:"Almost anyone wouldn't look good compared to Andy Grove"

In the interest of millennium comparisons, I believe that Andrew Jackson may compare well to Andy Grove. One a 19th century icon ... the other a great figure of the 20th century.

Both are feisty ... and maybe paranoid ... but you can't argue that Andy J. loved his women ... and his country.

.... Which may give him the edge in this close contest.

But you miss my point. Almost anyone wouldn't look good compared to Andy Grove. Partially for the reasons you pointed out.

Steve,

I didn't know A. Grove until a year ago when I started investing in AMD. My point is I don't compare Barret to Grove.....I compare Barret to mature companies that are doing well.....SUNW, CSCO, EMC and now AMD. He's not bad and the company is making $ but then again he had a great platform from which to start.

Bottom line: he's done two things that I find disturbing....he's left a lot of business on the table due to poor planning and it appears he overpays for acquisitions. Does that make him a bad Pres? No, but does it make him a good one...not in my book.
