Yesssssssssssss--
I go barefoot most of the time. Which is weird given that I own a lot of shoes--like 60 pair-- but it's nothing to do with wearing them-- it's an astrological imperative, me being a Pisces.
I was thinking, as I wrote that last post, that I bet the women of DAR were not big shoppers and were probably appalled that I wasted two afternoons doing this odd thing. Except for X, but her shopping is a whole different motivational psychology. Hers is about DEALS.
I know women who think it is A TREAT to go shopping!!!!!!!! Yes, croc! I kid you not. Really, they think it is FUN! They like it! They travel in packs and do lunch. My mother-in-law- an otherwise sane and worthy person- frequently spends a day shopping with other retired women.
I can't think of a more unpleasant thing to do. Which is why I'm having a second glass of wine and besides now it's five o'clock traffic...
I am trying to talk Ammo into going with me.
Sure
Right.
I'll buy you any clothes you want.
I don't need clothes.
He bought the corsage for his prom date today.
I said, what did you order?
A white flower.
What kind?
A white one.
Well, a rose?
Maybe. I dunno.
Is that it, one white flower?
No, it has a ribbon.
What color.
Pinkish. I guess. I told them she had a pink dress.
Well, I'm sure it will be- lovely.
It was only 20.00.
He's happy.

<<Hmmm... I get the same feeling of resentment when people invite me to their weddings or some other "event" that (probably) requires fancyschmancy clothes... >>

My neighbor, whom I've known for 39 years, is getting married and invited me to the wedding. I declined telling her I don't dress up. She said it was casual. June the 3rd, my uniform of the day will be cut offs and a tee shirt. She said not that casual, stay home.
