You have to be kidding.

Unless there is a dividend involved who would
pay $45 for a stock they can buy on the open market
Monday morning for under $45.

Who knows, with MSFT earnings and reaction (so far)
negative, they probably can buy A LOT CHEAPER.

I've never been exercised when the price is even 1/16
over the call strike price. Maybe your experience is
different, but I suspect people will see a down market
coming next week.

Interesting. I finally dragged out my copy of Thomsett's "Getting Started With Options", which helps to explain just what you wrote. Imagine that my account will reflect, before Monday's open and hopefully on Saturday, what has been assigned.
