Joe - sheesh man, now I gotta bookmark the Intel thread to read you guys? The horror! <g>

Dave

It's funny, I was looking for a re-entry point to jump back into Intel. Not anymore.

I wonder why Intel didn't do what it did in the past: Announce, and don't deliver. Dell could announce computers, based on the phantom chips with Piii-800 like warning - "Delivery time may exceed 90 days".

Joe,

I think all the flack is catching up with them. I think, out of necessity, they are becoming more sensitive to public opinion and therefore more forthright.

Joe,

After reading the article again, I started wondering if Intel is delaying this stuff on purpose - to continue selling more PIIIs and to avoid celerons cannibalizing PIII sales at these speeds (to maintain reasonable ASPs in Q2).
