Andreas, it will be a cold day in hell, to use your terminology, when the layoffs account for 13% of the total by the second quarter, especially since the firm already committed to analysts in January that 2000 would be let go this past quarter. Just because you don't hear about the layoffs it does not mean that they are not happening.

Andreas-- Long ago MC said 8K would be layed off. Then through mergers approximately 3K were added. So in Jan he states 2K goes and now possibly 450 more. Almost down to even unless he has a pleasant surprise for us. Which side are your bets placed? With 2K++ out and good sales in services they may make operations expectations-- the msft and analyst statements of slower commercial sales may not have a huge effect on cpq--- we will know soon enough,,,
