I never place market orders Caus. Too easy to get screwed- and you'll never even know it. There are some cases where it's necessary, but any time you just HAVE to get in (or out) is generally a bad time to be doing so.

I have a check list of 3 events when buying gold miners:
1) POG is rising.
2) XAU is rising.
3) US$ is falling.

When these 3 come together, a strong rally nearly always ensues. Place your limit order slightly above market (if you're worried about missing out). I usually place mine just below the market, and try to catch a small pull back. Sometimes I miss the train, but hey, that's the chance you take.
