I was afraid I didn't make it clear. The profitability in 2003 refers to the international business - most of which will be spun out at the end of this year.

ATHM would have certainly been profitable by next Q, had they not decided to grow internationally. That is a fact.

I suppose ATHM is figuring that it will automatically just get those new contracts at cheaper prices when those exclusive agreements with the cable companies are up.

Projections going into this year were overly optomistic in hindsight.

So you misunderstood my cc post. That's understandable.

In any case, you'll soon get actual confirmation that projections even into 2001 were overly optimistic all around. Of course, much disbelief at first, but the market has already spoken.

Now that you have integrated the correct meaning of "profitability in 2003" into your thinking, Archimedes, do you want to restate your post.
