Skeeter, mr mark will have a better suggestion than I have. Until then, I would check the hard drive by running a disk scan. Then I would defragment it. Do you have Norton's Utilities? If not you can use the windows utilities to do this. START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>DISK CLEANUP
scans the disk for errors and fixes them.
START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>DISK DEGRAGMENTER
defragments.

There may be other problems, but that's how I would start.

i don't have a better suggestion than gottfried has, skeeter. he's offered good advice, given what you've told us. hopefully your prob clears up. if not, give us some more details (about your os, what you've tried, when it happens, etc.) so we can go at it some more.

:)
