Steve,

By the way, have you heard any rumors whether the K9 will be exclusively IA32?

I don't think it would make a lot of sense, if AMD wants to establish Sledgehammer instruction set, and the overhead of adding this 64-bi instruction set is low.

Steve,

Is AMD following Intel's "monumental mistake" or will the Sledgehammer actually be a superior chip? By the way, have you heard any rumors whether the K9 will be exclusively IA32?

I assume that Sledgehammer will be a deeply pipelined x86 processor, with some 64 bit instructions, and on chip MP capability.

It probably makes a lot more sense than IA-64.
