You might also try posting this on the CREE board. I understand that CREE's latest acquisition will give them more expertise in combining GaN with SiC. In addition to high voltage MOSFETs and all that, the Blue/White LED may have uses in creating cheaper blue lasers (HP is working on that) and as an aside a long term replacement for florescent lights (so some think/hope). With respect to SiC and other wideband gap research, you may want to explores some of the DARPA sites. If your interest is even tangentially related to the so called PowerCosm (Huber/Mills) you may want to pick up the latest edition of Wired and check out article on Flywheels as electricity storage devices. At first blush it sounds strange, but the combination of magnetic bearings and enclosure in a vacume eliminates much of the friction in these motor/generator power storage devises.

OT - Robin Williams, Charlie Rose

Hi Ray, I sent you an OT message earlier in this time slot, and it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, I think it was you who pm'ed me concerning the subject line above. I just finished viewing the Charlie Rose Show on PBS, 13 in NY, and I recommend viewing this airing to anyone who has a taste for techno humor, or who is a fan of either of these individuals. Williams is at his best, and Rose giddy, and most vulnerable. Too Funny. Williams is so quick that I'm convinced he uses a unique manufacture of neural pointers, with customized CAMs (content addressable memory).FAantastiC
