tekboy, as a newbie to QCOM, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for your in-depth description on QCOMs history with Mr. Market as well as the FUD'ers, and a very good description of the fundamental power of the company & separating news from FUD.

I suggest the M*boy tag be taken off you, on account of this 1 post.

much appreciated!

cheers, kumar

There is absolutely NO problem with Qualcomm
other than valuation in the present market conditions.
When Ericy capitulated, and when MOT signed off 2-3 weeks ago, deal done. Everything now being said, published, is retoric, and some truth. Yes their will be W-CDMA, Yes there will be CDMA-2000, Yes there will be HDR. So what, Qualcomm gets paid from all. Keep focused on what Ericy did, and Mot recently, there lies the answer. Short term, we trade in a range.

Hope you don't get rilled by the short term.

Ruff

tekboy,

That is a fabulous recap and current perspective about perceptions of Qualcomm. I bookmarked it and sent it to a couple people.

If any of our readers were deterred by the length of it, go back and read every word of it. Some things take more time to explain properly than other things. It's a very important post.

Holy Jihad Tekboy, that was one mighty terrific write-up! As an Old Q head, it kind of bothers me that you may have accurately summarized 32 million posts over the last three years in a few paragraphs, but I'll live with it. Besides, your bone dry rationality left out the lusty religous fervor experienced by the True Believers when the Evil Ericsson Empire was finally vanquished. Fortunately, we have an absolutely splendid Chapter 2 with Nokia leading the charge this time around, and, Lord be praised, even more acronyms to fill the spectrum and obliterate any possiblity of understanding what's going on. At the Q shareholders meeting, the Good Dr. Jacobs even tried to throw in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum, or DS-CDMA, to cover all the little critters spinning off the beloved IS-CDMA95, but adoring shareholders would have none of it, preferring mud to clarity. Which is why I write actually: posts like yours violate the true spirit of the wireless tower of Babel. The use of plain English, simple, declarative sentences, and cogent reasoning have no place in any discussion of Qualcomm and its Enemies. Kindly fashion your future observations accordingly. best regards, mike doyle [aka, Surfer Mike]
