Alex Mt: Herd mentality is "right" and there are a lot of "hot air" balloons out there "still".

Investing has always been about sentiment. How investors "feel" about individual stocks, sectors and overall market direction. They are all interconnected...

If a flagship starts going down, investors worry that the others may be next. When sentiment begins to rotate..."instead of buying the dips" stuff bullish markets are made of...it begins to rotate to "sell the rallies" stuff bearish markets are made of! While transitioning from one to the other (a mixed bag) high volatility often occurs, as investors are uncertain. They don't know which emotion should rule, greed or fear! They don't want to be left out of the always rocket rallies that follow all dips and they don't want to be holding in a waterfall decline. What to do, what to do...

At times like this, individual investors are most vulnerable to manipulations by "those that can". That's why it is "always" important to "think like a criminal" and look for the foot prints that reveal the intent of "those that can"...<g>

LG
