Tue 2 May 2000 News Release
Mr. John Kruzick reports
DRC Resources has received a drill report from its geologist on the first
diamond drill hole on the Afton mine property. DDH Afton 2K-1 has
intersected native copper mineralization and copper sulphides for 217 feet
(458 to 675 feet) in a brecciated fine-grained rock. This drill hole
demonstrates that the Supergene enriched zone continues to at least 300
vertical feet below the pit bottom. THe native copper and copper sulphides
occur as veinlets, stringers and disseminations in the breccia rock. The
drill hole was in the mineralized breccia rock when drilling was suspended
due to near surface caving conditions. All mineralized core is being split,
sampled and assayed for copper, gold, silver and palladium.
DDH Afton 2K-2 has commenced and is being drilled to intersect the
mineralized breccia zone approximately 200 feet below the intersection in
DDH Afton 2K-1. Casing for the second drill hole was set beyond the broken
ground to prevent future caving.
