Unless you are a permabear that believes that all the technological changes in the past five years are just an illusion.>> I am just a layman but would like to pose some dumb question to you. I agree that internet/telecom. changes are spectacular but do they transform to the same level of economic changes while the stocks of many companies are way ahead of itself. Yes in Sillicon Valley the jobs look good. Some programmers can make twice as much as 5 yrs ago, same to some chip designers. Technicians and assemblers see their salary increase small. Many engineers of other fields are still in difficult to find or maintain their jobs. One bright point is that US technlogy do help other countries advance, but many are too poor for informattion revolution and thus hardly afford more US export. Best Regards
