LOL. Look, if you rabid QCOM fanatics are always going to fall back on declarative statements, blind faith or some weird notion of the ability of the mighty US government to repeal the law of supply and demand whenever you start to lose an argument then why even bother to clutter the Nokia board with the same old, tired and wearisome arguments about the superiority of CDMAOne and the inferiority of the de facto global standard?

The heavily American pedigrees of TDMA, the de facto global wireless standard, and CDMA (CDMA2000 or WCDMA), the future standard, are not really in serious dispute. Well, okay, two Texas juries still have to decide on what percentage of TDMA can be credited to IDC and Harris and what percentage of TDMA can be credited to the public domain. And CDMA2000 and WCDMA still have not been acid-tested in court. Still, a lot of smart American companies are key suppliers to both TDMA and CDMA camps and altogether make more money in one year and provide more US jobs than QCOM. I take it then your nonsensical point about Washington DC was said in jest.

By the way, I noticed that you skillfully avoided addressing the fact that a CDMAOne network is 2-3x more expensive than a GSM or TDMA network while a CDMAOne handset is at least 50% more expensive than a TDMA or GSM handset. That might help you to provide the right context to CDMAOne's rapid growth off a very small numerical base outside of South Korea. That might also help you understand how CDMAOne and CDMA2000 are going to be simply outsold, a fact that may tend to get lost on those who get infatuated with the technology to the exclusion of all other considerations.
