I listened to the MSFT CC last night. It's worse than what I was fearing. Maybe we will get that crash. Tough to be a long term investor here. Still got my core holdings, but would prefer to be in all cash. <g>

As I postulated before, the dynamics of the wealth effect are also playing out in the business world. The dotcom companies flushed with capital are spending boatloads on SUNW, CSCO, MSFT, and DELL gear. Now that the Internet bubble has been deflated/burst, venture and IPO capital are becoming scarce. The buying spree for Internet gear will also slow down (still expected to be strong though).

The next wave of growth will come from outside the US. With the Internet-startup boom/bust happening so fast here in the US, many business models are being disproven even before the startups outside of the US get a crack at the opportunities. This means that the startup wealth effect won't be spurring the next growth wave.

Hi Dennis:
Re:2300? Some called for it. I have seen some reasonable calculations even lower. These
trend changes are brutal! <gg>

We are having a nice rally today, if it holds and we close above 3670, do you think it changes things?

Regards,

Ray
