THAT was one of the clearest explanations of a successful investment philosophy I've heard.

I am not interested in giving the government nearly half my profits (having many of my Q shares in the short term capital gains category). And I know that I'll never be able to pick the bottom. I thought that was around $110!

I was talking to the young guy up at the Amoco station last night about his stocks. I knew he was buying tech stocks and asked him how he was doing. He said he just bought some CSCO in the 50's. I told him I still had some CSCO with a cost basis of around 2. I also reminded him you must endure times like this if you ever want to have the opportunity to say that.
