LOL- I have perused the same material (at least as far as the stuff you have quoted- as have countless others) and come to a completely different conclusion. If I threw at you all the books I have read in my lifetime and buried you under the stack (a HUGE stack)- it would NOT be an answer to a question about MY reasoning. It would, I think, be more akin to an admission of defeat.

If I cannot present a clear and reasonably concise explanation of why I hold a given opinion, I usually take that as a good indication that the opinion needs to be reconsidered.
