Steve,

Re: UTTER BS

Its very simple.

They doubled the die/wafer.

But yields are 50% of 0.25 micron.

Voila ........ product shortage.

Once yields are fixed they will be awash in OVERCAPACITY.

And remember a fab running at 50% capacity is a money losing proposition.

And by mid 2001 while dresden is humming at 0.13/Cu.

Intel will have 8 out of date 0.18 fabs.

Something stinks about Intels execution.

And its not just Yousefs shorts.

regards,

Kash

Since intel is SUPPOSED to be transistioning to .18um, they should have SIGNIFICANTLY more volume available. Saying they drained their reserves in Q4 is irrelevant, as they should have MORE than made up for that with increased #s of die comming from .18um.

Steve,

What's interesting is that Fuddster refers to Intel's excess inventory as necessary reserves but to AMD's as inventory overhang....chips they could not sell. And so the double standard goes on.....and he wonders why he has no credibility.
