I did not mean to imply that Microsoft is better or worse than any other company. My only point was that a lot of earnings when split up among even more shareholders may not result in good earning per shareholder.

The very high PE ratios of the companies you mention is even a better example of this than Microsoft.

From a stockholder perspective the value of the absolute magnitude of the earnings must be evaluated in terms of the number of shares.
