Re: Morgan Stanley earnings revisions - an estimate on the low side often causes the stock to drop, making it possible for institutional investors to purchase more shares at low prices. If a firm like Morgan Stanley had any intentions of buying more stock, it wouldn't be sensible for them to publish higher estimated earnings. This phenomenon has occurred many times with other stocks, such as QUALCOMM in past years.
