Hi Rita. I'm in agreement with you.

TIME (read, earnings, hence value) will have to pass before the market can move ahead on a fundamental basis. The TA seems to be reflecting that.

Good time to work on a tan, learn a new language, build a patio..........

2 other points that I'd like to make while we're at it.

This decline has really demonstrated to me the absolute importance of preventing big losses as opposed to trying for max gains. If you have a $100,000. portfolio and take 50% loss on it, you now need a 100% return just to get even.
The degree of the loss magnifies the needed return to break even so to the extent that one can minimize losses, they can magnify gains in the end.
The second is the difficulty trying to select rising stocks in a overall declining market. I liken it to trying to find the dry spot in a rain storm.
These are things you and others have posted about before and they bear repeating IMO.

I'll be spending most of my time reading earnings reports to determine who will rise the fastest when a buying opp presents itself.
