Brocade is doing extremely well, and the other 3 of that group (Ancor, Gadzoox and Vixel) seem to be fighting for the scraps.

It certainly seems that way; thanks for your response, Tony.

Also, since my last post was my first on this thread, I should've stated that I'm long EMC and VIXL (especially EMC, of course), with no positions in any of the other companies mentioned. Mea culpa for not having disclosed this originally.

Slightly OT, again: Since many on this thread may be interested in Fibre Channel companies, and since I can't find the following item referenced on this thread before (apologies if it has been already), here's Vixel's response to an extremely dirty tactic by Brocade which was to the detriment of both Ancor and Vixel:

Of the four switch companies you mentioned, (Brocade, Ancor, Gadzoox, and Vixel), only Brocade and Ancor were originally in the switch business. (Ancor was actually first with a fibre channel switch but focused on the LAN. When they changed focus to SAN they had fallen behind Brocade.) Vixel and Gadzoox are hub makers who only recently have tried to gain entry into the switch market. The majority of their revenues are still gleaned from selling hubs including VIXL's revenues from Sun. Ancor has the Sun OEM for switches.
