Hi Investor2; It was a truly severe short squeeze combined with a technology hype. Very similar to ADSP (which went up something like 20x in a week) last fall, except over a longer duration with a lot bigger stock. (JMHO)

I2,

What fundamentals could possibly account for such bizarre price action? Could this price action be solely a function of rampant speculation???

Others may have differing opinions, but I think it's pretty generally acknowledged that it was at least partly a short squeeze, as well as some optimism generated around the company based on the fact that RDRAM-based systems started shipping.

It probably got ahead of itself <G>. OTOH, it's still up something like 150% for the year, so it hasn't been a bad investment for those of us who have been around awhile. As for the people who bought at $471, your statement applies to several hundred companies in the market in the last month.

Hope this helps.

Dave
