Andrew,

For what it's worth I am a technology investor with 90%+ of my portfolio in technology stocks. I have been in technology stocks since the late 80's and have done my own stock picking and have I owned many of the stocks Gilder recommended prior to his musings.... so please don't suggest (without knowing)that we are chasing anything. Gilder is not a luminary - he's a follower - just one that like to post his musings while others that are more informed continue to invest on their own. So, please don't make assumptions. Let's leave that to Gilder. LOL!

I however do find it more than just a simple irritation when Gilder, with little to no supporting data, suggests a sector has seen it's best days. If he's right I can accept that, but when he's wrong and it impacts the investments of those that don't subscribe this is unacceptable. And that is the crux of my issue with him.... and of course that he holds himself up to be something he is not. It's people like you that have made him what he is... he hasn't done it alone. The question is would the stocks he's recommended have behaved the same with or without his recommendation?

OG

At this point in time, I believe one can honestly state that "Greenspan moves markets, Buffet moves value stocks, and Gilder moves techs" - that is precisely what the equation is.

Funny thing for a trio this powerful, they're all pretty decent individuals.

Now I left out President Clinton, however after his March 3rd statement I think we can fairly state that "Clinton can really move biotechs," least on the downside" Actually a great buying opportunity to pickup some biotechs somewhat cheap. We thank you Mr. President.
