Mahclane is how we say it here, too. I think it used to be a sleepy little town, but that was before the federal government got to be so rich and powerful. All the really rich people in Washington power politics live in Capitol Hill, Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, Northwest, continuing upriver to Chevy Chase, Bethesda, and so on. But some of the rich people crossed over the Chain Bridge and live in Mclean, it's right across the Potomac from DC, and it's even closer to Langley. (But the people with ultra bucks live out in the hunt country in Virginia on estates, it's just the working stiffs that live close in.)
