Michael, have you figured out how SNDK calculated the $204M one-time gain they reported on the UMC deal? If you arrived at $423M, and SNDK only invested ~$40M, was the remaining $170M+ blown on the company Xmas party? Craig

Mike, I am glad you were able to get a question in during the c.c. The UMC holdings are not insignificant and the foundry relationship is a valuable one. Michael, Back in late February I posted to you the following... UMC to issue 20% stock dividend. I believe that SNDK will benefit, but have not been able to confirm. Message 12954501 I am glad you asked Eli about it. I had forgotten totally about the announcement. I could hear the analysts scribbling notations in the background. I think you scooped them once again! you said..."Since SNDK has a sizable amount of cash on the balance sheet, the only reason to sell the shares is if the asset begins losing value at the end of the restriction period or if cash is needed for acquisitions, or construction of Dominion." It is great that we have cash out the WAZOO to fund expansion. I think Eli would hold onto the shares to guarantee "most favored nation" status with the UMC brass. The relationship with UMC is a healthy and vital one. We need all the output we can get our hands on. Also, we can always mint a few million new shares if needed...but that seems unlikely at this point. As Betty posted a while back...
