hmmm...i don't think that this'll work for you but you can give it a shot. at work, i use outlook98 running on a microsoft exchange server. i can recall a sent message if and only if: 1) the person is using outlook98 or greater, 2) the person has outlook up and running, 3) if the message is unread.

1) go into the Sent Items folder and open up the message that you want to recall. (ie. get the message up in its own window and not just in preview mode)

2) in the message's menu bar, click Actions then on Recall This Message.

3) in the dialog box that appears, select whether you want to delete the sent message or if you want to replace it.

4) check if you want an email confirmation of success

5) click OK.

Tig, OE help says you can recall messages sent to newsgroups:

To cancel a message after it is sent, select the message, click the Message menu, and then select Cancel Message. Canceling a message does not remove it from a newsgroup user's computer if the user downloaded the message before it was canceled.

To view information about a newsgroup message, such as when it was sent, select the message, click the File menu, and then click Properties.

Except I can't find the 'message menu' anywhere.

Gottfried

Thanks so much for the info.

I shall pass it along to my Husband for his execution.
