A very nice post from Yahoo re. ELON earnings.... Reality check by: rhyld 4/21/00 5:07 pm Msg: 36890 of 36964 If you bought this stock based on a quarterly earnings report then you would be incredible short sighted. When you discuss making or missing an estimate by 1 cent on a float of 33 million shares you are talking about $330,000. Pocket change and peanuts for a company with revenue of 40mil+ and a growth rate at 30% and having introduced their breakthrough product at the end of the quarter. The revenue numbers don't even include the new I.lon server.Which on the conference call ( you will listen to it before you sell won't you?)was meeting the company's planned numbers, which would also have a gross margin of 60% +/-. It is obvious that echelon is only now starting to hit the long term strides that have been their goal since forming this company. Microsoft was just a little software company at one time that no one had ever heard of. Wonder about the investor that sold their microsoft back in the 80's because just before microsoft made it big, they lost a couple hundred grand because of development cost. Ouch, that must hurt. So again, if you are buying or selling this stock based on the loss of $330,000 (1/3 the net worth of the average poster on the message boards)then go ahead, a fool and his money are soon parted. For all others with a little vision, and I really don't think it takes much vision to see whats happening here,enjoy summer. Your going to love the fall. RHYLD
