Then I guess it's a good thing I don't hold any of those! Does that make me above or below average?

< That depends on what specific stocks you have in your portfolio. I think the whole discussion began with some debate about the valuations of CSCO. I would think that not only CSCO, but also INTC and MSFT (the three most common stocks in the average Joe's portfolio these days) are overvalued and will underperform the index over the next 10 years or longer >

CSCO - Agree. Absolutely great company, but valuation is insane

MSFT - Probably agree. Great company, fairly high valuation (although down recently).

INTC - Not sure I agree. Great company, generates a lot of cash, and has a very strong franchise (stronger than MSFT, I believe). Current valuation makes it fully valued, but I still think it will keep up with market over the next 10 years.

Disclaimer - own INTC & MSFT, not CSCO (been wanting to buy it for a while, but it never comes down to what I consider a fair price)

Dipy... BTW, are you still sticking to that characterization of MSFT as "overvalued", now that it's under 80?
((See what I mean about "ornry") <GG>

Hey, do you recall that in 1974 there were a few stocks that actually sold at PE's under Two?
Keep the faith...
